Holy Week Day 7

Pre K

Read Mark 16:1-7: On Sunday Jesus' friends bought spices so they could to anoint Jesus’ in his tomb. This was there way of honoring him. They were sad that he died. But when they arrived they found the tomb was empty. An Angel appeared before them and told them that Jesus was no longer there. That he arose from the grave. He wasn't dead anymore!

Say: The Jesus' friends were sad that Jesus died. When they went to visit his grave they found out that he came back to life!

Q: What do you think of that?

Say: God is so powerful he can defeat death. With God anything is possible

Act: Lets draw the tomb of Jesus, we will make it empty and put a Man in white robes next two it (the Angel).

Say: Tomorrow when we wake up we will celebrate the day inwhich Jesus came back to life.

Pray: Jesus, we are so glad you defeated death. We know we can only find eternal life in you. Amen.

Elementary

Read Mark 16:1-7: When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body. Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb 3 and they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?” But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. 5 As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed. “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.’”

Say: The two Mary's and Salome were sad that Jesus died. When they went to visit his grave they found out that he came back to life!

Q: What do you think of that?

Q: Have you ever heard of anyone coming back to life?

Q: What does that teach us about the power of God.

Say: God is so powerful he can defeat death. With God anything is possible!

Act: Lets draw the tomb of Jesus, we will make it empty and put a Man in white robes next two it (the Angel).

Q: Do you know what tomorrow is? Tomorrow when we wake up we will celebrate the day inwhich Jesus came back to life.

Pray: Jesus, we are so glad you defeated death. We know we can only find eternal life in you. Amen.

Developing Disciple

Read Mark 16:1-3. When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body. Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb and they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?”

What do you think is going through the minds of the three women?

What do you think they expect to find at the tomb?

We know Jesus died on the cross for us. That he endured darkness and the grave so that we could enter his Kingdom. But we often forget the depths in which Christ plunged to rescue us. Why is this?

Turn off all the lights in your room and imagine how dark his tomb must have been. Spend time in prayer thanking him for the sacrifice he made.

Make plans to experience the Resurrection of Christ tomorrow at a church nearby.

Also pray about who God might call you to share this great story with over the next week? This is a story you can not keep to yourself. Is there someone God has already put on your heart?
