Elementary
Read Genesis 21:15-20:
"When the water in the skin was gone, Hagar put the Ishmael under one of the bushes. Then she went off and sat down about a bowshot away, for she thought, “I cannot watch the boy die.” And as she sat there, she began to sob.God heard the boy crying, and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven and said to her, “What is the matter, Hagar? Do not be afraid; God has heard the boy crying as he lies there. Lift the boy up and take him by the hand, for I will make him into a great nation.”Then God opened her eyes and she saw a well of water. So she went and filled the skin with water and gave the boy a drink. God was with the boy as he grew up."
Say: Our world can be scary at times. Things do not always go the way we think they should. Sometimes bad things happen and people get scared. At times our world seems hopeless.
Q: Where do you see hopelessness in our world? Thankfully our God is a hero. He is a God who can come to our rescue.
Q: Do you ever need God to rescue you? We know one day God will fix this whole world.
Q: Can you think of anyone who needs God to rescue them right now?God calls us to be a light to the world. He wants us to do something when others are "crying out". Is there anyway we can be God's "hands and feet" and come to their rescue?
Act: Write down some ideas.
Lets pray for them too: God, please help us to be your hands and feet. Help us to hear their cries and do something. Amen.

Write down ideas and make a commitment. Put this commitment somewhere in view as a reminder. Also give this commitment to a faith leader in your life who will hold you accountable.
Pray for those who are hurting in our world. Ask God to do something amazing and rescues them. Ask him to reveal the ways he can use you in this situation. Perhaps he will reveal other places that need you to be His "hands and feet".
