Holy Week Day 3

Pre K

Read: Luke 19:45-48: Jesus went into the house of God and found out people are turned it into a sales floor. They were using God's place of worship to make money. Jesus knew this brought dishonor to God. So Jesus drove out all the sales people and made it God's house again. Several religious leaders were angry because they enjoyed making money off of God. They wanted to hurt Jesus but knew they couldn't because alot of people liked Jesus.

Act: Let's draw a house of worship. A church. What are the things in our church that help us to worship God ( Bibles, worship band, cross in the sanctuary, Sunday school teachers etc.).

Pray: God, help us to worship you with our lives. Help our church to always bring you glory. Amen.

Elementary

Read: Luke 19:45-48: When Jesus entered the temple courts, he began to drive out those who were selling. “It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be a house of prayer’[c]; but you have made it ‘a den of robbers."  Every day he was teaching at the temple. But the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the leaders among the people were trying to kill him. Yet they could not find any way to do it, because all the people hung on his words.

Q:  Why was Jesus driving out the sellers?

Q: Why were the teachers of the law angry?

Q: Where and how do we worship God?

Q: What things can distract us from worshipping Jesus?

Act: Let's draw a house of worship. A church. What are the things in our church that help us to worship God ( Bibles, worship band, cross in the sanctuary, Sunday school teachers etc.).

Pray: God, help us to worship you with our lives. Help our church to always bring you glory. Amen.

Developing Disciple

Why was Jesus driving out the sellers of the temple?

The sellers were making money off of selling animals for sacrifice. People made sacrifices to atone for their sins. Why do you suppose the sellers were taking advantage of this set up?

Have you seen Christian leaders trying to make a profit off of the gospel?

Jesus came to be the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. He's sacrifice can not be bought or sold. It is a free gift to all who accept him as Lord and Savior.

Spend time in prayer thanking Jesus for giving his life for the sins you commit everyday.
