Genesis 3:21-24

Pre K

*You will need two sheets of paper and some paints.
Read Genesis 3:21-24: The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them. And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.” So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken. After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.
Say: Because Adam and Eve disobeyed God they had to leave their home.
*With our paper and paints lets draw Adam and Eve leaving the garden.
They left their home. But God had a plan to bring them back home to live with him forever.
*Lets paint a picture of Adam, Eve and us returning to our home with God.
Pray: God, thank you for making a way for us to return home to you. We look forward to living with you in our kingdom. Amen.

Q: Do you know what God's plan was? (For Jesus to come down to earth, live a sinless life, die on the cross for our sins, and rise to life again so that we might live with him in his kingdom forever).
*Now lets paint a picture of Adam, Eve and us returning to our home with God.

Because of their sins against God humanity was banished from their true home. Their home was in the garden where they lived in intimate community with their creator. It was paradise.
Now our world is fallen. We experience sin and brokenness everyday.
Q: What have you seen or experienced in the last week that has made you think "I wish God would change that right now".
In Jesus we find community with God again. Jesus forgives our sins. When he carried the cross he was carrying us back to God. One day he will come back and "put this world to rights". One day he will bring us home to his kingdom.
Q: What are you looking forward to in the kingdom?
*Spend time daydreaming about the "kingdom come". Don't forget to listen for God's voice.
