Genesis 8:21-22

Pre K

*You will need a rock, warm water in a cup and washable markers.
Read: Genesis 8:21-22- The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma of Noah's sacrifice and said in his heart: “Never again will I curse the ground because of humanity, even though every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done.
As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.”
Say: God shows us grace even when we fail. In the times we do wrong- he is ready and waiting to forgive us. In the times we sin- he wants us to turn back to him.
Act:
1.We are going to write that recent "sin" that we committed down on these rocks. These rocks represents us- sin leaves us dirty.
2.Then we will close our eyes and say sorry to God.
3.Now lets tell him that we will try to do good next time.
4.Then we will wash the sin away in the water.
This is what the grace of God is like!

God shows us grace even when our hearts naturally desire sin. In the times we sin- his heart wants us to turn back to him.
What is a recent sin you committed?
God calls us to repent of our sins. Repentance is more than saying sorry. It is turning away from that sin and turning back to God.
Why does God want us to repent rather than just say "sorry" for our sins?
How often do you just apologize for sin and not intentionally turn away from that sin?
Pray for forgiveness for your sins. Repent and meditate on a way to be intentional about literally turning away from those sins. Ask God to help you to "turn towards him". Thank him for grace!
